STEC is looking for an energetic technical sales professional with passion for the storage industry. Ideal candidates have hardware storage sales experience working in a dynamic environment and rapidly-growing marketplace.
DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Storage Sales Engineer will be responsible for supporting all pre-sales/sales ready SSD based customers in the defined region as well as post sale care of customers.
This job is a key role in the STEC family and is only suited for the best of the best. This persons time will be spent via con calls with storage customers/distributors/application engineers, end users, and in the field on calls and trainings with key partners to train their technical teams to support the STEC objectives.
Job Location: San Jose, CA
Specific responsibilities include: - Direct interface with the customers storage architects, CTOs, marketing personnel, STEC engineers as well as manage all technical aspects for customers during pre-sales product qualifications, and after sales technical support to assure timely resolution.
- Generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts.
- Assesses potential application of customers needs and offers solutions that meet customer needs.
- Effectively ensure customer satisfaction on product technical support by working with groups mentioned above and by escalating high priority or customer concerns to upper management
- Participate in weekly meetings with assigned customers to ensure that all issues are tracked and closed.
- Ability to influence C-level customer decisions
- Ability to accurately forecast and drive revenue goals both internally as well as externally
- Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product developments.
- Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: Special Requirements: - Ability to establish and accomplish revenue goals with limited direct supervision. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities - Excellent organizational and sales skills - Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills - A fluid understanding of storage sales and the channel sales process - Must be capable of independently presenting STEC solutions to current and potential customers - Storage sales experience a must Education: College degree required. BS/BA in Business/Engineering or related field/work experience.
Experience: 3-5 years as Sales Engineer for major storage manufacturer. Must understand and have worked with the channel using direct resources and distributors to leverage the masses in order to sell the STEC line of solid state storage products.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and emails in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to internal customers and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
